The genesis of this band took place in 2005 when a diverse group of veteran musicians from Northwest Indiana and Chicago were brought together by a common bond, under unusual circumstances. Its evolution continued with the addition of several members in late 2005 and 2007, and with the addition of its newest/oldest member in early 2009. They are currently based right over the Chicago line in Hobart, Indiana and have appeared at clubs and festivals throughout the mid-west.

Begin with the soul of R&B and rock; add some spices from the blues; blend with some funk, some jazz & southern rock; mix in a little Middle-Eastern & Celtic flavoring; stir with bold, animated percussive beats; then combine all of this with the song-writing lyrics of their composers. This synthesis of originality is a brief description of the unique diversity and artistic values found in the music of ONEWAY-UP and the spirit that they bring to bear on their musical interpretation of the works of other composers.
