PITCHY AND THE 44s

4 Guys, 11 Instruments, 94 Strings, and 1 Washtub Bass
-
PITCHY AND THE 44s
flash a style and edge that’s unlike any other band in Chicagoland. They
play a mix of jazz, gypsy, swing, blues, and just about any other genre,
to create a sound like no one else.
In nearly four decades, guitarist Rick Fazio has developed a unique
bluesrockagypsyjazzabilly style that gives their sound some grind.
As an electric washtub bassist, Steve “Boom Boom” Brownstein is as
important to the band’s sound as anyone. His playing is the connection
between the music they play and the roots that it came from.
Dave Lombardi is the singer and front man of Pitchy and the 44s.
Dave
plays guitar, bouzouki, zither, banjo, ukulele, and a hot mandolin, making
the Pitchy sound something not heard anywhere.
Bob “Drumbob” Melville mans the drums and percussion. A long-time
working local versed in any style, Drumbob keeps the beat that ties
this menagerie of strings into the music that makes this band so cool.
There just isn’t a band like this anywhere. Pitchy and the 44s are an act
that will keep your audiences engaged, jumping to their eclectic and
unique style of music.
